We were privileged to build two houses for the same family on their 100acre property that by day is the largest tomato farm in the country. When we met on site, our creative team were drawn to the sheer beauty of the land where the house was about to stand on. We knew we needed to nurture that and design a house that felt like an extension of its surroundings. Spotted gum timbers and dark finishes were presented to our clients which they loved. The house featured polished concrete throughout that extended onto the deck capturing views to Mount Ninderry. We loved this minimalist kitchen collaboration featuring a unique island bench that had one solid piece of stone which a step down to the timber breakfast bar style bench. The simple shelf line intersecting the deep rangehood gave the kitchen the balance and framing we were chasing in this design.
