Whistler Lane
As always when we are presented with a block of land in the design studio we scrutinise every aspect of the space we are working with, and how we can celebrate all of the best features of the land. This specific design is in a high density estate and across the road is a bit of bushland. We wanted to highlight the treetops visible through glass from all aspects, while using wall/window height to maintain privacy from neighbours to create the illusion of greater space. In addition we designed the floor plan to capture ocean views from the master bedroom and the pool in the centre of the home to catch the northern light. The hallways were predominantly lined with glass as well as 8m stacker doors going through to the entertainment area, which meant the pool and entertainment space became the focal point throughout. The wall and window height placement made the treetops visible from all bedrooms which created the illusion that the property was more secluded.
